Adult Student Wedding Performance - Canon in D

One of my working adult student, Kevin, performed violin performance together with his wife during their wedding dinner on May'15, Goodwood Park Hotel, located in Orchard, Singapore.

Behind the scene - Rehearsal 

To make their special big day with sweet memories, they started to practice this piece on Feb'15. They came to my class for rehearsal and both were started by having individual lesson first, and later on duet together. The bride familiar with piano and the bridegroom familiar with violin only. Therefore, I was in the role of "Conductor & Director" by listening, observing, monitoring, asking for "Cut" session and pointing out areas to improve, in order to present the best to the audiences for both types of musical instrument. 

During rehearsal, pitch, rhythm, expression and a lot of details are advised and taught with demonstrations, on both instruments. They were hard working, sacrificing a lot of time to ensure both violin and piano able to coordinate well for this piece, Canon in D by Johann Pachelbel. 

Other than that, performing on stage required to take note, eg. music stand, ensure violin to be in tune, sheet music etc.

Recently, Ms Yap joined an Orchestra in Singapore. She was selected as violinist among 200+- candidates due to her previous rich and great orchestra experiences involving many large classical pieces by different composers including Vivaldi, Haydn, Chopin, Tchaikovsky and many more~~

Violin and Piano - Pass with Distinction Exam July 2013

Congratulations to all students especially Zoey, Ash, Jia Li, Joy, Hwei San and Eve Billton pass with Merit and Distinction for their violin and piano exam held on July 2013, Grand Dorsett Hotel, Subang Jaya, Malaysia.

Piano Playing - 5 years old girl~

My student, Zi En played "London Bridge is Falling Down" & "Mary Had A Little Lamb" easy version~

She likes to attend the piano lessons and feels very excited for each lesson. She likes to play the piano very much especially playing her favourite songs! She always be self discipline to practice on the piano daily rather than waiting for her parents to remind her. 

Another special skills of Zi En without teacher's reminder: 

1. She has the great awareness on the loud & soft symbol of a song, 

2. She will count the rhythm, especially last note of a song (ending part).

She will express it out & handle with self-confidence automatically! OMG!! Thumbs up to this 5 years old little girl!! (actually she just 4+, not even 5 yet!)
